Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to join our Advisory team as Vice President, Global Carbon Markets Advisory. In this role, you will drive the development of ClearBlue’s advisory services, helping clients navigate opportunities in North America, the EU, and beyond. You will play a key role in guiding clients to assess and achieve their climate goals, particularly in carbon market position management, while collaborating closely with our product team to support ClearBlue’s transition into a leading technology-driven company.
The VP will oversee the creation of cross-functional strategies, contribute to subscription customer growth, and lead a team of senior consultants to deliver innovative, high-value solutions delivered through ClearBlue Vantage. This role combines leadership in strategic advisory, business development, client relationship management, and internal team coordination to ensure the successful execution of client projects.
Main responsibilities:
Carbon Consultancy Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction in understanding both compliance and voluntary carbon markets, advising clients on the impact of market schemes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for client projects, guiding them in optimizing emission reduction strategies to align with current and future regulations.
- Lead responses to client requests for research, policy analysis, and strategic insights, ensuring they receive high-quality, actionable advice.
- Oversee the development and execution of client’s carbon position management accounts in ClearBlue Vantage and the associated development of reports to assess and manage clients’ carbon positions and compliance requirements.
- Identify and capitalize on new subscription client opportunities in the EU and globally.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and optimizing team dynamics across various practice areas.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, consistently exceeding client expectations.
- Manage internal resources effectively, balancing client commitments with new business development efforts to drive productivity and a growth mindset across the team.
New Business Development:
- Spearhead efforts to identify and secure new business opportunities by actively researching and pursuing qualified leads.
- Participate in new business pitches and tailor proposals and RFPs to meet specific client needs.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, achieving revenue growth targets and exploring emerging opportunities.
- Foster and maintain long-term relationships with senior leaders, clients, and industry thought leaders to drive sustained business growth.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 10+ years of direct experience in carbon markets, including compliance market obligations and exposure to biogas, renewable energy, methane, and/or low-carbon solutions.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals with diverse skillsets and backgrounds.
- Strong track record of cultivating and maintaining trusted client relationships, delivering innovative, high-impact solutions to exceed client expectations.
- Expertise in new business development, strategic consulting, and managing client relationships at senior levels.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable strategies.
