During New York's Climate Week, where global leaders gather to discuss key climate issues and reinforce their commitments to climate action, IETA (International Emissions Trading Association) held its annual Carbon Forum North America 2017 (CFNA2017) conference.

IETA's CFNA2017 provides a platform to discuss and exchange business-driven climate solutions. Among the high-level climate change discussions taking place throughout the week, the conference focuses on carbon policy, pricing, and finance. The conference attracts government officials, businesses, and NGOs worldwide to understand and develop business opportunities for climate action in North America.

ClearBlue's Nicolas Girod provided market insight and analysis for the WCI market, sharing ClearBlue's perspective and expertise in historic activity, products, trends and pricing forecasts.

As CFNA 2017 and Climate Week came to a close in New York, the highly anticipated linkage agreement of the California, Quebec and Ontario carbon markets was announced and signed by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard and California Governor Jerry Brown in Quebec City. The news of linkage was very positive for California, Quebec and Ontario's Cap & Trade programs and provided greater confidence in the future of carbon markets in North America.
